The 2019 award winners are:
Alex Wheeler, Magdaline Wanjiru Mungai and Amy Campbell.
Alex works as Principal Library Assistant in Manchester Metropolitan University’s Digital Library Services and is also working towards a CILIP accredited qualification. Magdaline is a postgraduate student at Kisii University in Kenya, where she studies Information Science and also works at Africa Nazarene University Library in Readers’ Services and the Reference Division. Amy works as a librarian at Leeds Beckett University. All three applicants demonstrated their passion for libraries and for assessment activities and we are looking forward to their conference reports, which will describe their experiences and provide constructive suggestions on how the conference can improved.
The travel award scheme supports diversity among conference attendees, for a richer and more dynamic conference experience for all. The LibPMC Travel Award is granted to students and new professionals from unrepresented groups who have no other means to attend the conference. Applicants needed to demonstrate an interest in library assessment activities. This is the second travel award scheme in the history of the conference, you can read more about our 2018 winners, and their reflections on the conference.
